Hey Ho, Tenebrous Cult!
Apparently today is Indie Press Day?! Which I swear I did not know was a thing, and perhaps as recently as yesterday it wasn’t.
But yesterday means nothing; today is Indie Press Day, the greatest holiday of the year. Happy Indie Press Day, everybody!
To celebrate, preorders for Jacy Morris’ WE LIKE IT CHERRY, an absolute nerve-shredder of a Weird Survival Horror novel, are open now!
Buckets of hot blood splashed on Arctic ice in this one.
About WE LIKE IT CHERRY:
Documentarist Ezra Montbanc thinks he's hit the jackpot when he receives an invitation to document the rites of a mysterious, hitherto unknown tribe: the Winoquin, who reside in the harrowing, inhospitable Arctic.
It’s a shot at the prestigious journalism career he's long envisioned, and a path out from the borderline-exploitative series detailing the celebrations of Indigenous tribes he’s been mired in with his life and filmmaking partner, Stu.
Buzzing with possibility, Ezra and his crew depart for the home of the Winoquin, only to find themselves in a frozen and bloody battle for survival atop an inaccessible glacier ritual site, where men and mythical horrors hunger for sacrifice.
"A harrowing tale of identity and redemption through violence. Wicked!"
Tim McGregor, author, Lure and Eynhallow
“Darkly atmospheric. A story of love and humanity as much as it is horror and the supernatural. Bloody, frozen and full of heart.”
Laurel Hightower, author of The Day of the Door
“Blood-soaked and brutal. A nuanced story of tradition vs. survival; spirituality vs. modern world; and communal tribe vs. chosen tribe.”
Carlos E. Rivera, author, White Harbor trilogy
“Thought-provoking and bone-chilling. Ranks among [Morris’s] best.”
Brian Bowyer, Splatterpunk Award-nominated and Godless Award-winning author, Roads to Ruin and Old Too Soon

Today is also International Workers Day, commemorating the working class all over the world. That’s me, that’s Alex, that’s Jacy, that’s so many of our peers and fellow indie publishers; my guess is that’s the lion’s share of all of you reading this, too.
So, hails to all of you. Tenebrous Cult unite!
Hails New Weird Horror.
Hail independent publishing.
Hail indie presses around the world.
Hail WE LIKE IT CHERRY.
