BE A DISRUPTOR: Vote for Tenebrous in the 2024 Locus Awards!
And an eBook sale on eligible titles, to boot
Hey Ho, Tenebrous Cult!
Did you know that you, Average Citizen of Earth, can vote for the Locus Awards? Yes, you!
…and you can, too!
And so can you, Bill! That’s right, we got them to waive the restraining order this year, so do us proud!
In fact, anyone who wants to throw in their two cents about which Horror/Sci-Fi/Fantasy books and stories they think deserve some extra attention can vote. You can do so right here:
After they email you the link and you fill out a (weirdly specific to your pop culture whims) survey, it’s off to the races.
Even though Tenebrous is not listed in any of the categories (a crime on so many levels, but that’s a whole ‘nother story) did you know you can write us in?
Keep on reading to see which of our books are eligible.
Look, we’re realists; we don’t expect to nudge the needle too awful much; not with the specter of Big Money Big Five Publishing looming over all, and Tor/Nightfire having 73 nominees in every category.
But our authors are badass, dammit. And they deserve every opportunity we can give them to get fresh eyes on their art.
Besides, Tor/Nightfire isn’t exactly a Cummie Award Winner™, now, are they?! So who’s saying we live in a world without hope?

Let’s give the status quo a little kick in the ass. Vote for the 2024 Locus Awards today.
TENEBROUS LOCUS-ELIGIBLE TITLES
As you scroll down the ballot, the first Tenebrous-adjacent category is BEST HORROR NOVEL, of which we have three eligible books:
BEST HORROR NOVEL:
TRVE CVLT by Michael Bettendorf
FROM THE BELLY by Emmett Nahil
A SPECTRE IS HAUNTING GREENTREE by Carson Winter
In the next category, BEST FIRST NOVEL, two of the same titles are also eligible (you can vote for them both in each category, if you want):
BEST FIRST NOVEL:
TRVE CVLT by Michael Bettendorf
FROM THE BELLY by Emmett Nahil
Next up, in the NOVELLA category:
BEST NOVELLA:
MOUTH by Joshua Hull
In the next category, BEST NOVELETTE, we have four eligible titles:
BEST NOVELETTE:
“The Ballad of Horse Girl” by Bitter Karella
“Mother is Coming Home” by David Corse
“The Girl With Barnacles for Eyes” by Lyndsey Croal
“Come to Daddy” by Ryan T. Jenkins
Three (-ish) more categories:
BEST COLLECTION: ALL YOUR FRIENDS ARE HERE by M.Shaw
BEST MAGAZINE: THE SKULL & LAUREL
BEST PRESS (you’re damn right we’ll shout out ourselves): TENEBROUS PRESS
Only the first issue of THE SKULL & LAUREL was released in 2024, so it’s the only one eligible, but all of the (fiction) stories contained therein can be nominated for BEST SHORT STORY. Here’s the Table of Contents, you can’t go wrong:
The Blind Cannot Judge Me, For They Cannot See I'm Good Inside - Rain Corbyn
The Sea-Hare - Wailana Kalama
Dermatillomania - Renan Bernardo
CARTESIANA - Abigail Guerrero
If We've Never Been Gone - Jeannie Marschall
The Halved World - Samir Sirk Morató
Variations on the Memory Palace - Avra Margariti
Never Waste A Drop - Tiffany Michelle Brown
And we’d also be endlessly grateful if you’d consider writing in the one, the only, Echo Echo, for BEST ARTIST.
Echo worked her magic on four of our eight books this year, and re-stylized our logo to boot…
…and the more the world knows about her, the better.
LOCUS-ELIGIBLE eBOOKS ON SALE NOW
But hey! We wouldn’t ask you to just go and vote for some pile of books without sampling them first.
That’s why the eBooks of all our eligible titles are 50% off in our webstore for the duration of Locus voting (which ends April 15th)!
At the end of the day, we’re still putting out the same books this year, and next year, and the year after that** regardless of what accolades we do or don’t get. But we sure as hell would appreciate the boost in attention (and, certainly, sales!) that these things bring.
So one more time: VOTE TENEBROUS IN THE LOCUS AWARDS.
**But not in 2028. In ‘28 we’re selling completely the f&%k out; don’t worry, you still have plenty of time to remember us “when we were cool”.
Hail the Weird.
Hail the Indie.
Too cool for awards, but you should absolutely vote.
