10p065: Blood on Ice
This is the moment of glory or death, the moment to maim or to be put to rest
Hey Ho, Tenebrous Cult!
Our next book for 2025 has been announced:
And Alex even flew a few thousand miles just to close the deal:
Jacy has been on our radar for a while now; we met last summer and have hung out a few times in the interim; dude is funny, confident, talented and an insanely prodigious self-publisher. We’ve bandied back and forth but never quite landed on the right title for Tenebrous.
Well, WE LIKE IT CHERRY is that right title. Goddamn, is it. Despite how contemporary and relevant the subject matter is, it has a decidedly retro feel to it, like something out of Grady Hendrix’s Paperbacks From Hell, but with a Tenebrous New Weird spin to it.
I’m excited as hell to talk more about it, but we’ve got some time to get to that; WE LIKE IT CHERRY is scheduled for release next summer. Much more in the coming months.
THE GREAT PACIFIC NORTHWEST TAKEOVER
Alex has been stateside this week, taking in the sights; comparing Portland Oregon (favorably, I think? More or less?) to some impossible hobbit-like realm where everyone grows heirloom leeks and has immaculate gardens; meeting up with some of the Indie Horror locals:
We’re in Portland a couple more days before we fly down to San Diego for StokerCon and the release of Emmett Nahil’s FROM THE BELLY later this week!
If you haven’t preordered yet…seriously, what are you waiting for? Barnacle Body Horror, the End of the World, and incredible character work in between.
Emmett will join us in the newsletter to share his thoughts on release day—this Thursday—and he’ll also pop by our StokerCon table to sign books regularly over the long weekend, so if you’re in the San Diego area, come say hi.
WEIRD ENDLESS SUMMER VACATION
Every month for the rest of 2024, we’re dropping New Weird Radness on you, but we’ve definitely got your summer reading plans taken care of.
All of these are available to preorder at our webstore right now:
FROM THE BELLY, a novel by Emmett Nahil (May 30)
BRAVE NEW WEIRD: The Best New Weird Horror Volume Two (June 26)
SPLIT SCREAM Volume Five: novelettes by Lyndsey Croal and Bitter Karella (July 23)
A SPECTRE IS HAUNTING GREENTREE, a novel by Carson Winter (August 15)
Something for everyone who digs Indie Horror, and we’ll be diving into all of them…after we escape StokerCon.
We’ll talk to you later this week from Saint Diego.
Hail Portland.
Hail New Weird Horror.
Hail the 10pCult.
Matt + Alex
