10p037: NEVER TRUST A HOUSE WITH A NAME
Make your hunger suck you in Make you feel so many things World can show you many sights Drape yourself in dead dark skin
Hey Ho Tenebrous Cult,
Everyone has known a house like POSTHASTE MANOR. If you grew up in a medium-sized city or suburb, anywhere in the world, chances are you’re picturing it in your mind right now. Hell, maybe you can see it from your window as you’re reading this (don’t look for too long though; it may look back).
It’s definitely one of the largest houses in the neighborhood. It’s seen better days, but there’re still hints of its former, faded glory on display. And back in its heyday, before times were troubled, it was quite a sight; you shoulda seen it then! Trouble is, no one quite remembers when that heyday actually was. Or why it stopped. Though everyone certainly has a theory, and most of those theories end in blood.
And ever since, it’s just the house that no one much talks about, except in hushed tones. Usually, just saying its name is enough, because that name alone carries so much weight, so much baked-in definition and history that nothing more needs to be said.
Some of your neighbors, you’ll spend years getting to know; years that turn into decades…yet for some reason, that house just can’t keep a resident. To the point you’re never actually sure who’s living there. But someone definitely is. There’s another moving van pulling up right now. Maybe this family will last.
Co-authors Jolie Toomajan and Carson Winter want to share the complete history of one such house with you: the infamous, once-illustrious POSTHASTE MANOR.
Alex and I have been legit vibrating for fifteen months to deliver this book to you. It’s been a long time coming. And we are beyond proud to, at long last, reveal the cover art by the always-a-knockout Trevor Henderson:

About POSTHASTE MANOR:
NEVER TRUST A HOUSE WITH A NAME
Everyone has a story about Posthaste Manor.
None of the stories end well, but that doesn’t stop the hopeful from hoping and the desperate from trying.
This composite novel stands as both history and eulogy of one very haunted house, as recounted by artists, real estate agents, and beloved family pets; by the debauched, the dead and the dying, and anyone looking for one last chance.
Raise a glass in celebration. Just don't linger within its walls for long.
Cover art by Trevor Henderson.
Interior illustrations by Alex Woodroe.
“POSTHASTE MANOR un-builds a mosaic narrative from the exquisitely deconstructed corpse of Gothic fiction. Toomajan and Winter kick our expectations out like delinquents smashing windows, then remodel the old bones of the haunted house story to entrap the reader in a joyfully wicked architectural beast.”
Joe Koch, author of The Wingspan of Severed Hands and Convulsive
POSTHASTE MANOR is out October 18th.

STEP UP YOUR SWAG GAME
This probably falls more under the personal victory umbrella, but we’ve finally started prying our shirts and other printed merch from the clutches of Print-On-Demand, and warehousing it in our very own Tenebrous Warehouse Facilities (uh, Matt’s office).
Right now, we’ve got some snazzy new tote bags and our signature Skull & Laurel tees and tanks on sale over at the 10p webstore. (Hmm, Skull & Laurel has a nice ring to it; keep your ears open for more on that in the coming weeks…) The quality is friggin’ top notch, thanks to the badasses at Portland Ink.
Eventually we’ll be liberating the rest of our designs from the POD facilities; but until then, today is a great day to help us recoup our investment!
FRIENDS WITH BENEFITS
A couple weeks ago, Friend of Tenebrous, Sloane Leong, told you about Death in the Mouth II, an illustrated horror anthology showcasing BIPOC and other ethnically marginalized writers and artists from around the world, which is currently funding on Kickstarter. That campaign is over halfway funded, but with only a week to go it desperately needs your help to get to the finish line.
I’m telling you: this is gonna be one of the finest Horror anthologies in recent years.
Read more about Death in the Mouth, and support it here.
And good news! Other Friend of Tenebrous, Rhiannon Rasmussen—it pays to have friends, lemme tell ya—told y’all about Embroidered Worlds: Fantastic Fiction from Ukraine and the Diaspora, last month, and that sucker funded on Kickstarter in no time at all.
But it’s still got a lot of time to go and a heap of rewards to add on, and we want y’all to have an opportunity to get a copy of this excellent volume for yourself:
Edited by Valya Dudycz Lupescu, Olha Brylova, and Iryna Pasko—is a speculative fiction charity anthology from Athis Arts aimed both at translating a number of Ukrainian works into English for the first time, and paying Ukrainian authors and translators directly for their efforts; in addition to raising funds for the humanitarian efforts of Razom.
