If you want the deluxe package of THE BLACK LORD, this time around we’ve only got a limited amount, so you won’t wanna dawdle.
Deluxe package of THE BLACK LORD includes:

4”x3” vinyl sticker, thick slab o’bacon-style bookmark, & the usual Tenebrous swag
About THE BLACK LORD:
Eddie’s parents may be arguing about the disappearance of his infant brother Danny, but Eddie’s facing a terror all of his own. There’s a strange figure outside that claims it has Danny safe and sound—all Eddie needs to do to get his brother back is open that window.
Eddie’s father is filled with guilt over his relationship with his own lost brother. His mother has been abandoned to navigate her grief and terror alone. And his grandmother carries a disturbing, all-too-relevant truth about their shared family history.
As minutes tick by and hope for Danny grows ever smaller, the very fabric of their world disintegrates, welcoming eldritch terrors of unspeakable provenance to their doorstep. The family is losing a decades-long struggle against an entity that is not of this world, and its hunger threatens to swallow them whole.
“Combine Shirley Jackson’s haunted claustrophobia, Stephen King’s nail-biting plots, and the cosmic otherworld-horror of Stranger Things, and you get one wholly original Colin Hinckley. Spend a few hours in [his] mind, and I guarantee you’ll be drawing the curtains tight for weeks.”
GennaRose Nethercott, author of Thistlefoot
“A deeply moving, horrifying fairy tale, woven from grief, sorrow, and monsters. Full of characters you will relate to—even when you wish you didn't—THE BLACK LORD will leave you broken.”
Jessica Leonard, author of Conjuring the Witch
And who doesn’t wanna feel broken, amirite? Get on it; preorder THE BLACK LORD.
And we talked about this earlier in the week, but don’t forget: Ashley Deng’s DEHISCENT comes out in four days! It’s Eco-Horror; it’s post-apocalyptic; it’s…kinda nihilistically optimistic, as far as New Weird Horror goes?
Real quick, we wanna shout out a project that reverberates loudly with us, brought to our attention by our good friend Rhiannon Rasmussen:
This is an act of cultural rebellion and preservation in the face of attempted genocide.
Embroidered Worlds: Fantastic Fiction from Ukraine and the Diaspora—edited by Valya Dudycz Lupescu, Olha Brylova, and Iryna Pasko—is a speculative fiction charity anthology from Athis Arts aimed both at translating a number of Ukrainian works into English for the first time, and paying Ukrainian authors and translators directly for their efforts; in addition to raising funds for the humanitarian efforts of Razom.
A Kickstarter launches September 1st, but this link will take you to their mailing list and keep you in the loop as the project progresses. Do consider checking it out and throwing them some support.
OK, see? Easy peasy lemon squeezie. One more time, here’s your critical to-do list before the weekend gets here:
Step One: Preorder DEHISCENT. Out next Tuesday.
Step Two: Preorder THE BLACK LORD. Out September 12th. Either the limited deluxe edition or the book-only version is A-OK with us.
Step Three: Give Athis Arts a follow.
Do these three little things and I guarantee the world will still be here come Monday. No promises otherwise.
Hail THE BLACK LORD.
Hail DEHISCENT.
Hail Ukraine.
